on Effect of VAT on TFC Online Products and Services


a)    What is VAT?

Value-Added Tax or VAT is a tax on the consumption or use of goods and services levied at the point of sale. As a general rule, VAT is applicable to all goods and services unless specifically exempted. For more information about VAT, you may visit the website of the UAE Ministry of Finance at www.mof.gov.ae

b)    When will VAT Come into effect?

Per Federal Decree-Law No. 8 2017, VAT will be implemented starting January 1, 2018 at a standard rate of 5%. 

c)    How will this affect TFC Online Products and Services?

Starting January 1, 2018, there will be a price increased in TFC Online products and services sold and rendered in UAE and KSA to reflect the 5% VAT. Please note the guidelines below for your relevant subscription:

•    For credit or debit card users enrolled into Automatic Renewal Payment system in the UAE and KSA:  the New Price will take effect upon the subscriber’s monthly renewal date on or after 01 January 2018. For example, for subscriptions with monthly cut-off every 15th of the month, the New Price automatically takes effect from 15 January 2018. 
 
You may opt-out or cancel the enrollment of your card to Automatic Renewal Payment by visiting the Edit Your Profile Page and ticking the box on removal of Automatic Renewal at least three (3) calendar days prior to the last day of your existing subscription. If you cancel your Automatic Renewal Payment less than 3 calendar days prior to the last day of your existing subscription, your subscription shall be renewed for another subscription period. You may also email [email protected] for assistance. The terms and conditions of TFC Online on Cancellation of Automatic Renewal Payment shall apply.
 
•    For PayPal users enrolled into auto-renewal payment system in the UAE and KSA: your subscription will be de-activated upon the next monthly renewal date on or after 01 January 2018. To continue your subscription, you need to re-activate your PayPal account by subscribing to a TFC Online Subscription Package with the New Price.
 
•    For prepaid card, credit/debit card or paypal users subscribing every month in the UAE and KSA: the New Price shall take effect upon your next monthly renewal date on or after 01 January 2018. For example, for subscriptions with monthly cut-off every 15th of the month, the New Price takes effect from 15 January 2018. Upon de-activation, you need to re-activate the account by subscribing to a TFC Online Subscription Package with the New Price.
 
•    For all current subscriptions which are subscribed to more than a month (with prepaid subscriptions for 2 or more months) in the UAE and KSA: the New Price shall take effect upon your next renewal date on or after 01 January 2018. You shall enjoy VAT-free rates until the next expiration date. 
 
•    For subscribers outside of the UAE and KSA: You shall continue to enjoy the current price of the TFC Online Subscription Packages.
